3. udgave af dét gratis musikmagasin Musik Aarhus er snart parat til igen at underholde, oplyse og engagere. De første eksemplarer uddeles til det gratis release-event 5. marts.
Denne aften kan du opleve Electrojuice, Oh Stacy og Messy Shelters.
Det er snart 1 år siden at VoxHall lancerede konceptet Musik Aarhus. Et koncept der har sin berettigelse så længe der sker noget i Århus med musikken. Og det gør der jo heldigvis hele tiden. Via musikmagasin, release-event, website og radioprogram stiller Musik Aarhus skarpt på et udsnit af lokale kunstnere og oplyser generelt om hvad der foregår på musik-fronten i Århus, Østjylland, Danmark og verden – i dén rækkefølge.
De første 2 udgaver af Musik Aarhus har budt på fokus på Maria Timm, Mimas, Green Lives, Kiss Kiss Kiss, Coco Moon og Boom Quips. Ikke blot via features i musik-magasinet, men også til koncerter i et fyldt VoxHall. Denne gang har Musik Aarhus valgt at fokusere på disse tre kunstnere:
Electrojuice er allerede kendt, men heller ikke mere end at Musik Aarhus gerne præsenterer denne dynamiske duo på vej mod stjernerne. Ved et tilfælde gik de 2 skoledrenge Mads og Jakob 2007 igang med at remixe andres numre – og senere lave deres egne. De er allerede efterspurgte Dj’s og deres debut-EP “Solrock” fra oktober ‘09 fik en god modtagelse. Selv om de startede med at lave noisy elektro og remixes er de endt med et udtryk, der er helt deres eget. [Elektrojuice på MySpace]
Oh Stacy er det århusianske band, der for et halvt år siden vandt årets Starfighter konkurrence. Det gjorde de foran f.eks Bodebrixen og det siger sig selv at dommerne var imponerede. Deres præmie på 100.000 kan bruges som de vil, så det er ikke til at sige hvornår det munder ud i indspilninger, men Oh Stacy er særdeles aktive dette forår. Messy Shelter alias Mikkel Bolding kom praktisk talt ud af ingenting i 2008 og besnærede anmeldere og musik-elskere med debut-EP'en Abandonship, - med betydelige forventninger til et debutalbum til følge. Siden da har pladeselskabet Tigerspring signet Messy Shelters, hvis musik beskrives som et sted imellem kantet popmusik, shoegazer og alternativ folk.
